Artist-in-Residence Program

Purpose

Kitahiroshima Town will be hosting an Artist Residency Pilot Program for artists from Japan and abroad.

The program aims to promote the appeal of Kitahiroshima both domestically and internationally by having artists use the town's nature, traditions, and local resources as inspiration for their creations during their stay in the town, and to promote international cultural exchange and revitalize the region.

Future developments

Kitahiroshima Town will be positioned as a "stage for creativity," and by holding this program regularly each year simultaneously in multiple areas of the town, it is expected to develop into a regular event that conveys the town's charm through art and a place for international exchange.

In addition, through this initiative, we hope to revitalize the region in the future, focusing on culture and the arts, including making effective use of vacant houses and unused facilities in the town.

We hope to create a place that provides opportunities for international exchange for elementary, junior high, and high school students in the town.
