Kitahiroshima Town Artist in Residence

Regional introduction and welcome reception
At the beginning of your stay, we will introduce you to the nature, history, traditions and lifestyle of Kitahiroshima Town.
Through a welcome event with local people, you will be able to get a feel for the local atmosphere and warmth of the people.
Talk event
We will hold a talk event where artists will talk about their realizations and creative processes during their stay. It is a forum for open dialogue where artists and local communities can deepen their understanding through words.
Workshop/Sketching Session
The artists will share their own expressions and perspectives, and there will be time for sketching and observing the town's scenery and daily life. Not only the artists but also local participants will join in, sharing what they see and feel.
Group exhibition and farewell reception
The results of the residency will be presented as a group exhibition, where participants will share not only their works but also their creative processes and experiences, and the residency will conclude with a farewell reception.
Countryside experience and social gathering
Through activities such as watching Kagura and experiencing rice planting and harvesting, participants will experience the sense of time and values that are rooted in this land.We will also provide a forum for interaction with local residents, the next generation of young people, and local artists and aspiring artists.
